Nitrous Oxide for Children
Gentle, effective inhalation sedation to help your child relax—pain- and anxiety-free dental visits.
The Process
Your child will be fitted with a comfortable nasal mask. A carefully-balanced mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen is administered so they inhale it. They remain awake but relaxed. Once the treatment is over, we turn off the nitrous oxide and give pure oxygen to clear the gas from their system.
The Results
Many children tolerate treatment much better—less fear, more cooperation, fewer disruptions during procedures. Most feel relaxed throughout and experience little to no discomfort. Recovery is fast, often within minutes after gas is stopped.
Care Tips After Use
Avoid heavy meals just before treatment to reduce risk of nausea.
Monitor your child for any lingering dizziness or nausea; most kids are ready to go after a short rest.
